Complaints and Appeals

JEBMES provides a fair process for handling complaints and appeals concerning editorial procedures, peer review, publication ethics, or the conduct of journal representatives.

Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision should submit a written request to the editorial office. The appeal should identify the manuscript, explain the grounds for the appeal, and address the relevant points in the decision or reviewer reports. Appeals should be based on substantive concerns, such as a factual error, a significant misunderstanding of the manuscript, or a possible breach of editorial procedure. Disagreement with an editorial decision alone does not guarantee that it will be reconsidered.

The Editor-in-Chief will review the appeal and may consult the handling editor, reviewers, or another qualified editor who was not involved in the original decision. If the Editor-in-Chief has a competing interest, the appeal will be assigned to an independent editor. The journal will communicate its decision to the corresponding author. The decision following an appeal is final within the journal’s editorial process.

Complaints about editorial conduct or the journal’s procedures should be submitted in writing to the editorial office with a clear description of the concern and any relevant supporting information. If a complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, it may be referred to the publisher, the Research Center and Case Clearing House (RC-CCH), PPM School of Management. Complaints will be assessed impartially and handled confidentially, as appropriate.

Authors and readers may find the journal’s contact details on the JEBMES Journal Contact page.
