Correction and Retraction

Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction Policy

The Journal of Emerging Business Management and Entrepreneurship Studies (JEBMES) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Retractions, withdrawals, and corrections are handled transparently and in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies and applicable guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Article Retraction

A published article may be retracted when reliable evidence shows that its findings or conclusions are substantially unreliable, or when a serious breach of publication ethics has occurred. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data, or a major error that invalidates the findings.
  2. Duplicate or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure or justification.
  3. Proven plagiarism or unauthorized use of another party’s work or material.
  4. Serious violations of research ethics.
  5. Other serious publication ethics violations that undermine the reliability or integrity of the article.

A concern or request for retraction may be raised by authors, editors, reviewers, readers, institutions, or other relevant parties. The Editor-in-Chief will assess the information, seek clarification from the authors, and may consult reviewers, relevant experts, or the authors’ institution. The decision will be based on the available evidence.

If an article is retracted, JEBMES will publish a clearly identified retraction notice stating the reason for the action. The notice will be linked to the article. The article will remain available in the journal archive with a clear retraction status to preserve the publication record and inform readers.

Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript while it is under editorial processing, peer review, or revision, provided it has not been formally published. The request must be submitted in writing to the editorial office, include the reason for withdrawal, and confirm the agreement of all listed authors.

A published article cannot be withdrawn through the manuscript withdrawal process. Concerns about a published article will be assessed under the retraction or correction procedures described in this policy.

Article Correction

A correction may be issued when an error in a published article requires amendment but does not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions. Corrections may concern factual information, data presentation, author details, affiliations, or other errors that could affect readers’ understanding of the article.

Corrections may take the following forms:

  1. Erratum: correction of an error introduced during the journal’s production or publication process.
  2. Corrigendum: correction of an error originating from the authors.
  3. Addendum: additional information from the authors that clarifies or supplements the published article.

The Editor-in-Chief will decide whether a correction is appropriate and may consult the authors, reviewers, editorial board members, or relevant experts. Any published correction will clearly identify the article and describe the change.

Through this policy, JEBMES aims to handle article withdrawals, corrections, and retractions consistently and transparently, while protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
