Abstract

The establishment of Ultra Micro Holding by the Government aims to increase the capacity and scope of financial services for ultra micro businesses, support inclusive economic growth, and expand opportunities for MSMEs to develop in Indonesia. The challenge for BRI in managing its subsidiaries is not simple, considering the important role of the parent company in providing effective guidance to develop the core competencies of its business group. The mismatch in characteristics between the parent company and its subsidiaries can cause difficulties in providing effective guidance. This study analyzes the holding parenting strategy through descriptive statistical analysis methods, desk research, spider web graphs, and SWOT analysis to identify factors that influence the company's strategic decisions and determine an accurate parenting strategy to increase BRI's profitability. The research data consists of primary data obtained through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with stakeholders, as well as secondary data from annual reports and other sources. The results of the study suggest that BRI can adopt a parenting strategy in the form of a strategy guide and functional leader, with a role as an internal consultant working with PT Pegadaian and PNM. BRI can facilitate strategic expertise and resources for joint use, such as market analysis, identification of growth opportunities, and projects between business units, to increase the overall value and competitiveness of the company
